Peter Listrup

Director and Principal Instructor

Peter Listrup

Captain Listrup is a Master Mariner with over 30 years of seagoing experience, including 10 years in command. Peter has considerable and extensive experience in the operations and management of marine simulators. Prior to his role as Director of Smartship Australia Peter was the Vice President of the Star Cruises Ship Simulator in Malaysia.

Chris Galloway AFNI

Senior Instructor

Chris Galloway

Chris Galloway has over 25 years seagoing experience in both the Royal Australian Navy and as a merchant mariner across a wide range of vessel types, from square riggers and dredges to heavy lift ships and icebreaker. Chris has spent 10 years in command as an exempt ship’s master. Chris is also a specialist maritime lawyer with a research interest in the liabilities of ship masters and pilots.

Hugh Ferrar

Simulator System Manager

Hugh Ferrar

Hugh Ferrar is responsible for the technical and systems support activities at Smartship Australia. Hugh has many years of experience in information technology, and has previously worked as a Simulation Consultant operating a full mission ship simulator in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia. Hugh holds a Master Class 5 and a Yachtmaster, logging about 10,000 miles at sea as a delivery skipper and sailing instructor.

Cameron McKenzie

Simulator Systems Support Officer

Cameron McKenzie

Cameron McKenzie has a Bachelor of Games Design from Griffith University. Cameron is responsible for the in-house production of highly realistic 3D port models, in addition to providing specialised technical support and assistance with training exercises. Prior to joining Smartship Cameron held a range of positions in hospitality and retail, and spent some time working overseas.
